Jharkhand Weather: Heat wave alert over state extended till May 5

Jamshedpur, May 2: The relentless heat wave which is continuing over the state for the past one week is expected to last till May 5, said weathermen today.

IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre extended the heat wave alert over the state till May 5, Sunday.

Today, heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at a few isolated places of Seraikela-Kharsawan, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Dhanbad, Deoghar, Jamtara, Godda, Pakur, Dumka and Sahibganj districts.

Tomorrow, May 3 and on May 4, Saturday, heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places of Seraikela-Kharsawan, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum, Godda and Pakur.

On May 5, heat wave conditions are likely to prevail in Kolhan comprising three districts – Seraikela-Kharsawan, West Singhbhum and East Singhbhum.

The Met office also issued a warning of Loo in most parts of the state today.

Statistics revealed that the maximum temperature hovered between 41 and 46° C in several districts across Jharkhand during the past 24 hours.
