Jamshedpur, June 6: Heat wave conditions are likely to prevail at isolated places of Garhwa, Palamu and Chatra districts of the state today, said IMD’s forecast for Jharkhand today.
Thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 kmph) are also expected at isolated places over North-eastern and South-eastern parts of the state today.
Heat wave conditions are also likely to occur at isolated places of north-western and central, southern and adjoining north-eastern parts of the state tomorrow.
The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through 16.5°N/60°E, 16.5°N/65°E, 16°N/70°E, Goa (Mormugao), Gadag, Narayanpet, Narsapur and Islampur.

Monsoon Update
Conditions are favourable for further advancement of the southwest monsoon into remaining parts of central Arabian Sea, remaining parts of Karnataka, some parts of south Maharashtra, some more parts of Telangana and coastal Andhra Pradesh, some parts of south Chhattisgarh and South Odisha, some more parts of west-central and northwest Bay of Bengal during the next 3-4 days.

An east-west trough runs from above cyclonic circulation over West Uttar Pradesh to East Bangladesh across East Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand and Gangetic West Bengal at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
