Jamshedpur, June 26: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of heavy rain in isolated places of Jharkhand today.
According to weathermen, heavy rain is expected in north-eastern and south-eastern Jharkhand.
Thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 40-50 kmph) are also expected at isolated places over the state today.
Heavy rainfall is also likely to occur at isolated places over north-western and adjoining central parts of the state on June 28, Friday.
Monsoon yet to get pace
The southwest monsoon has further advanced into some more parts of the North Arabian Sea, Gujarat and Madhya Pradesh and some parts of southeast Rajasthan.
The Northern Limit of Monsoon passes through 23°N/60°E, 23°N/65°E, Mundra, Mehsana, Udaipur, Shivpuri, Siddhi, Chaibasa, Haldia, Pakur, Sahibganj and Raxaul.

Conditions are favourable for further advancement of the southwest monsoon into the remaining parts of the North Arabian Sea, Gujarat State, Madhya Pradesh, Some more parts of Rajasthan; remaining parts of Chhattisgarh, West Bengal, Jharkhand and Bihar; some parts of Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu-Kashmir-Ladakh-Gilgit-Baltistan-Muzaffarabad, northern parts of Punjab and northern parts of Haryana during the next 3-4 days.
Synoptic Features
The east-west trough from southeast Rajasthan was running from the point of the cyclonic circulation over southwest Madhya Pradesh to northeast Assam across East Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, Bangladesh at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
