Jamshedpur, April 27: The prevailing heat is going to intensify as IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre today hinted at a further rise in the day’s temperature by 2-3 degrees Celsius in the next 72 hours or so.
Jharkhand is in the grip of a heat wave, with maximum temperatures reaching as high as 44 degrees Celsius, including Jamshedpur and Godda, in the last 24 hours.
Today, heat wave conditions would prevail at a few isolated pockets of East Singhbhum,West Singhbhum and Seraikela- Kharswan districts of Kolhan; Bokaro, and Dhanbad districts of North Chhotanagpur division; Deoghar, Jamtara, Godda, Pakur, Dumka and Sahibganj districts of the Santhal Pargana region.
Heat wave conditions till April 30
The state’s heat wave conditions have been extended, especially in Kolhan and Santhal Pargana regions, until April 30.

Satellite pictures showed a trough from cyclonic circulation over north Bangladesh to north Odisha across Gangetic West Bengal at 0.9 Km above the mean sea level.
Light north-westerly to westerly surface wind was prevailing over Jharkhand today.
The Met Office also issued an alert of Loo in several districts and an advisory on how to prevent sunstrokes.
