Jamshedpur, Feb 21: Several places especially those in the southern and eastern regions of Jharkhand are likely to experience thunderstorms and rain in the next 24 hours.

IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre predicted thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 40-50 kmph) likely at isolated places over southern and eastern parts of the state on Saturday.

On Sunday, thunderstorms and lightning are likely at isolated places over southern and central parts of the state.

Meanwhile, the Western Disturbance is now seen as a cyclonic circulation over north Pakistan between 3.1 & 4.5 km above mean sea level with a trough aloft in the middle & upper tropospheric level with its axis at 5.8 km above mean sea level roughly along Long. 70°E to the north of Lat. 30°N.
Satellite images also indicated an induced cyclonic circulation over West Rajasthan extending upto 1.5 Km above mean sea level.

The trough from Gangetic West Bengal to Telangana was running from north Bangladesh to Telangana across Gangetic West Bengal, interior Odisha and south Chhattisgarh extending upto 1.5 Km above mean sea level.
