Jamshedpur, July 16: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of light rain at a few places over Jharkhand today.
According to weathermen, restricted rainfall would be witnessed in the next two days.
A low-pressure area has formed over the northwest and adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal off south Odisha coast extending up to 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.
The monsoon trough at mean sea level now passes through Jaisalmer, Kota, Guna, Damoh, Pendra Road, Sambalpur, Puri and thence southeastwards to the low-pressure area over northwest adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal extending up to 1.5 km above mean sea level.
Light to moderate rain was observed at many places over the state today.
Monsoon activity was normal over the state. The highest rainfall of 63.5 mm was recorded at Dhurki Block (Garhwa) during the past 24 hours.
