Jamshedpur, June 20: IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre issued a forecast of light to moderate rain at many places across Jharkhand during the next 48 hours.
An alert of heavy rain was also issued for isolated pockets over north-eastern and south-eastern parts of the state during the next two days.
The Ranchi Met Centre also predicted a two to three degrees fall in minimum temperature during the next two days.
Monsoon Update
The Northern Limit of Monsoon continues to pass through Navsari, Jalgaon, Amravati, Chandrapur, Bijapur, Sukma, Malkangiri, Vizianagaram and Islampur.
Conditions are favourable for further advance of the southwest monsoon into some more parts of Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Coastal Andhra Pradesh & Northwest Bay of Bengal, some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, remaining parts of Sub Himalayan West Bengal and some parts of Bihar and Jharkhand during the next two days.
Synoptic Features
A cyclonic circulation lies over northeast Bangladesh at 0.9 km above mean sea level.
A trough in lower tropospheric westerlies runs roughly along Long. 88°E to the north of Lat. 22°N between 1.5 and 3.1 Km above mean sea level.
