Jamshedpur, June 10: Severe heat wave conditions are likely to occur at isolated places of Garhwa and Palamu districts of the state today, said a forecast issued by IMD’s Ranchi Meteorological Centre.

According to weathermen, the relentless heatwave would continue in isolated parts of the state for the next 48 to 72 hours.

Today, heat wave conditions will prevail at isolated places of Chatra, Hazaribag, Koderma, Giridih, Deoghar, Godda, Dumka, Gumla, Khunti, Simdega, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan districts.

Tomorrow, an alert for severe heat wave has been issued at isolated places of Garhwa, Palamu, Deoghar, Godda and Dumka districts of the state.

The places which will be in the grip of the heat wave tomorrow include Chatra, Latehar, Lohardaga, Hazaribag, Koderma, Giridih, Jamtara, Dhanbad, Bokaro, Ramgarh, Ranchi, Gumla, Khunti, Simdega, West Singhbhum, East Singhbhum and Seraikela-Kharsawan.

Tomorrow thunderstorms and lightning accompanied by gusty wind (max wind speed: 30-40 kmph) are also expected at isolated places over central and southern parts of the state.

Monsoon Update

Southwest monsoon has further advanced into the remaining parts of the central Arabian Sea, some parts of the north Arabian Sea, some more parts of Maharashtra (including Mumbai).

The Northern Limit of Monsoon was passing through Thane, Ahmednagar, Beed, Nizamabad, Sukma, Malkangiri, Vizianagaram and Islampur.
