Jamshedpur, Feb 21: Several places in northern Jharkhand are expected to experience thunderstorms and lightning today, said a Met Office forecast.
Weathermen said there is a possibility of the formation of thunder clouds over northern parts of Jharkhand today which will result in thunderstorm and lightning activity.
An induced cyclonic circulation was seen over northwest Rajasthan and adjoining Pakistan extending upto 1.5 km above the mean sea level.
Jet stream winds with maximum speed up to 170 knots were prevailing over North India at 12.6 km above mean sea level.

Weather experts said that a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayan Region from the night of February 24, Saturday.
Ranchi today recorded a minimum temperature of 15.6 degrees Celsius while Jamshedpur recorded 17.6 degrees.
Daltonganj today recorded a minimum temperature of 15.3 degrees Celsius while Bokaro recorded 16.1 degrees.
In Chaibasa and its adjoining areas in the West Singbhum district, the minimum temperature hovered around 16.6 degrees Celsius.
