GM Shiv Kumar tried to tear ‘gutka’ packet while driving leading to collision
According to police, Shiv Kumar was negotiating the almost empty road from the Jamshedpur end and while passing the stretch along Dugni he tried to tear up a sachet of ‘gutka’ while the car was in full motion.
Incidentally, as the hands of the general manager were off the steering, the car deviated from its usual side and hit the bike which was coming from the opposite direction. As a result of the intense collision bike rider Sundi’s head was ruptured, causing the grey material to come out of it. He died instantly.
Some local residents gathered on the spot and arranged the seriously injured to be rushed to the medical college hospital in Jamshedpur.
Accused threatened locals mentioning SP, DC
Significantly, as a section of the local residents questioned Shiv Kumar for driving negligently, the latter tried to cow down the villagers by giving his identity. He even threatened the villagers by taking the names of the SP and DC of the Seraikela-Kharsawan.
The agitated villagers then caught hold of the general manager and thrashed him squarely before handing him over to a police party which had already arrived at the scene.
