Based on a recommendation from the Supreme Court collegium, the President has appointed Justice Tarlok Singh Chauhan of the Himachal Pradesh High Court to the post of Chief Justice of Jharkhand. The Central Government issued the official notification on July 14, stating that the appointment would take effect from the date he assumes office.
There is, however, uncertainty regarding whether a farewell ceremony will be held for Justice Rao.
