Srinagar, March 7: At the ‘Viksit Bharat Viksit Jammu Kashmir’ event on Thursday at Srinagar’s Bakshi Stadium, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on his first trip to Kashmir after Article 370 was repealed, launched several development projects valued at over Rs 6,400 crore.
He dedicated to the country the ‘Holistic Agriculture Development Programme’ (HADP) worth around Rs 5000 crore to increase Jammu and Kashmir’s agri-economy.
Additionally, he launched the “Swadesh Darshan” and “PRASHAD” (Pilgrimage Rejuvenation And Spiritual, Heritage Augmentation Drive) schemes, which are national tourism projects valued at about Rs 1,400 crore.
Nearly 1,000 recently hired government employees received appointment letters from the prime minister, who also spoke with women achievers, farmers, and business owners who benefited from various governmental programs.
Along with announcing the tourist locations chosen for the Challenge-Based Destination Development (CBDD) program, PM Modi also launched the “Dekho Apna Desh People’s Choice Tourist Destination Poll” and the “Chalo India Global Diaspora” campaign.
PM Modi also launched 52 projects aimed at enhancing various pilgrimage and tourist destinations throughout the nation.

Viksit Jammu and Kashmir priority of Viksit Bharat: PM
PM Modi addressed the people of Jammu and Kashmir saying, “Development projects being dedicated today will boost the development of Jammu and Kashmir. A developed Jammu and Kashmir is a priority for developed India.”
The Prime Minister also mentioned a time when the residents of Jammu and Kashmir were denied certain privileges.
“There was an era when law implemented in other parts of the country could not be implemented in Jammu and Kashmir, when schemes for the welfare of the poor were implemented across the country, but our brothers and sisters of Jammu and Kashmir were deprived of the benefits. See now, how the times have changed,” he said.
PM Modi went after the Congress party, saying that “the Congress was misguiding not only the people of Jammu and Kashmir but the entire nation on Article 370.”
“Today, I got the opportunity to inaugurate several development projects related to tourism. The power of development, tourism possibilities, empowerment of farmers, and the leadership of the youth of Jammu and Kashmir. Jammu and Kashmir is not just a region, it is the forehead of India. Viksit Jammu and Kashmir is the priority of Viksit Bharat,” the PM stated.
“I have been told that 1 lakh people from 285 blocks have joined us virtually. I want to thank the people of Jammu and Kashmir. This new Jammu and Kashmir has a bright future and the courage to overcome challenges. Seeing your happy faces, 140 crore people across the country are feeling satisfied,” he added.
