Ranchi, Oct 19: As preparations intensify for the upcoming Jharkhand Assembly elections, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM) and Congress have announced their decision to contest 70 seats together. This significant alliance will also allocate 11 seats to the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and leftist parties.

The announcement was made in the presence of key leaders, including Gulam Ahmad Mir, Congress in-charge, Hemant Soren, working president of JMM, and Rameshwar Oraon, senior cabinet minister in Hemant Soren’s cabinet. Their participation underscores the unity and determination of the alliance.

Before the announcement, the JMM and the Congress engaged in discussions to ensure a united front against the ruling BJP. Leaders from both parties emphasised that this step is crucial for maintaining political balance in the state.

The 11 seats reserved for the RJD and leftist parties are in regions where these parties have a strong presence. The leaders believe that this collaborative effort will consolidate voter support and establish a robust opposition front.

Political analysts suggest that this alliance could bring new hope to the electoral landscape. If successful, it may lead to significant changes in Jharkhand’s political dynamics.

All participating parties are currently refining their strategies, with expectations of intensified election campaigning in the coming weeks. Voters are eager to see which party can meet their aspirations.

Amid this political shift, the people of Jharkhand are seeking a new direction, with all eyes on the forthcoming elections.
