THE JHARKHAND STORY DESK

Patna, Jan 29: Lalu Yadav, the former chief minister of Bihar and chief of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), appeared at the Directorate of Enforcement (ED) office in Patna on Monday for interrogation in the alleged land for Job scam.

Lalu Yadav arrived at the central agency’s office with his daughter Misa Bharti.

Prior to going inside the ED office, Bharati spoke with the media and stated, “Whenever any central agency calls our family members for questioning, we go there and cooperate with them and answer their all queries”.

“Everything is in front of the country and the people of the country are watching everything,” Misa Bharti said.

A significant gathering of RJD supporters assembled outside the office to express their opposition to the interrogation of Lalu Prasad Yadav.

Land-for-jobs scam

The land-for-jobs scam relates to the time when Lalu Yadav served as the railway minister during the initial term of the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance government at the Central level.

During the period from 2004 to 2009, the accusation is that numerous individuals were appointed to Group “D” positions across different zones of the Indian Railways. In return, these individuals allegedly transferred their land to the family members of the then railway minister Lalu Yadav and A K Infosystems Private Limited.
