New Delhi, Dec 16: The accused in the Goa nightclub fire case, the Luthra brothers, were brought from Thailand to India. Upon arrival at Delhi airport, police arrested Saurabh and Gaurav.
After completing the formalities at the airport, both brothers were taken into the custody of Goa Police, who will now escort them back to Goa.

Earlier, at the request of the Indian government, Thai police had detained the two nightclub owners from Birch Bay Romeo Lane Night Club in Phuket. The brothers had fled to Thailand following the fire incident.

Notably, on the night of December 7, a fire broke out around midnight at a nightclub in Arpora, Goa, claiming 25 lives. Among the deceased were three people from Ranchi, Jharkhand, who were employed as cooks at the club.
According to local residents, fire safety norms were ignored at the nightclub. In connection with the case, Goa Police had earlier arrested the nightclub’s general manager and three staff members from the Arpora club.

The Goa government had suspended three senior officials in 2023, including the then village head (Sarpanch), for allegedly issuing a trade license to the nightclub. The former Sarpanch was also taken into custody.
