Jamshedpur, April 15: “Maithili should get its due rights, and I will raise my voice whenever and wherever needed,” said Jamshedpur MP Bidyut Baran Mahto, while addressing the audience as the chief guest on the second day of the 36th International Maithili Conference, held at Vidyapati Bhavan.

Mahto emphasized the significance of the Maithili language and culture, stating that its intellectual strength is being utilized for the betterment of the state and the country. He also extended warm wishes to all on the occasion of the Mithila New Year.
The event concluded with a Virat Kavi Sammelan, where 46 poets from across the country and abroad captivated the audience with verses touching on culture, language rights, environmental issues, and national unity.

Seminar Explores AI, Industry, and Youth Potential in Mithila
A highlight of the second day was a seminar on Youth, Industry, and the Role of AI in the Development of Mithila. Eminent entrepreneurs and IT experts participated both in-person and virtually, underscoring the need for a mindset shift in Mithila to encourage economic progress.

Speakers included Rajiv Kumar Jha, President of Mithila Chamber of Commerce Arvind Jha, successful entrepreneur Lily Jha, Germany-based professional Nisha Katyayan, Kumar Harsh, Saloni Chaudhary, and Poonam Jha, among others. They shared insights on the current state of business in Mithila and explored industrial opportunities.
Presentation of 17 Research Papers
A subsequent technical session, chaired by Shyam Narayan Kumar and conducted by Rajiv Ranjan, featured the presentation of 17 research papers on diverse topics such as Vidyapati’s poetic legacy, Ayurvedic approaches to diabetes, earthquake-resistant construction, network marketing in Mithila, and more.
Contributors included scholars from India and Nepal, such as Praveen Narayan Chaudhary, Professor Hiralal Karna, Dr. Santosh Kumar Jha, and Kalp Kavi, highlighting the cross-border cultural bond shared by the Maithili-speaking community.

Kavi Sammelan and Awards Ceremony
The concluding Virat Kavi Sammelan, chaired by litterateur Laxman Jha Sagar and conducted by humorist Vinod Hasaud, was the cultural crescendo of the event. Poets like Praveen Narayan Chaudhary (Nepal), Jholi Paswan (Nirmali), Nand Vilas Rai, Shailaja Jha (Kolkata), Rajiv Jha (Darbhanga), Shivkumar Tillu, Nutan Jha, Gayatri Jha, and others delivered soulful compositions that resonated deeply with the audience. The packed hall echoed with applause throughout the evening, celebrating the rich poetic traditions of Mithila.
In recognition of their longstanding contributions, Dr. Pranav Mishra, Arun Kumar Jha, Madhukar Laxman Jha, Dr. Dhanakar Thakur, and several others were felicitated with the Mithila Gaurav, Maithili Gaurav, and Organization Gaurav Samman awards.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Ashok Kumar Das, President of the International Maithili Parishad, Jamshedpur chapter, and General Secretary Vipin Kumar Jha, who expressed gratitude to the delegates from across India and abroad for their enthusiastic participation and support.
