Lucknow, March 5: Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has appointed Randhir Beniwal as the party’s national coordinator, following her brother Anand Kumar’s request to hold only one position.
Kumar, who was recently assigned the additional role of national coordinator alongside his position as BSP’s national vice-president, expressed his preference to focus on a single responsibility, a decision that was accepted by the party leadership.

Mayawati acknowledged Kumar’s longstanding dedication to the party and welcomed his decision, stating, “Keeping in mind the interests of the party and the movement, Anand Kumar, who has been selflessly serving the BSP for a long time, expressed his wish to work in only one post. His decision is welcome.”
With Kumar stepping away from the additional role, Mayawati confirmed that Beniwal, alongside Rajya Sabha MP Ramji Gautam, will now serve as BSP’s national coordinators. She emphasized that both leaders will work under her direct supervision to manage party affairs across different states.
This leadership adjustment follows a recent major shake-up in the BSP. Last week, Mayawati removed her nephew Akash Anand from the party, declaring that there would be no political successor to her during her lifetime. She later expelled him, citing his response to his dismissal as selfish and arrogant.
