Jamshedpur, June 9: Monsoon activity is gradually intensifying across the region, bringing relief from the prevailing summer heat.

According to the latest meteorological update, light rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at isolated places over the eastern and adjoining central parts of the state on June 9.

The activity is expected to gain slight momentum, with light to moderate rain or thundershowers likely at a few places across the state on June 10.
Synoptic Features
The Northern Limit of the Southwest Monsoon (NLM) continues its advance and currently stretches through 17.0°N/55°E, 17.5°N/60°E, 18°N/65°E, 18.5°N/70°E, Mumbai, Ahilyanagar, Adilabad, Bhawanipatna, Puri, Sandhead Island, 23.5°N/89.5°E, Balurghat, and 30°N/85°E.
This trajectory indicates that the monsoon has already covered significant parts of central and eastern India, including the coastal belt and lower Gangetic plains.

The synoptic situation further reveals that a trough in the middle and upper tropospheric westerlies persists, extending roughly along longitude 89°E to the north of latitude 22°N, situated at about 5.8 Km above mean sea level.
This feature is aiding in the formation of rain-bearing clouds and convective activity over the region.

Outlook for the Week Ahead
While the rainfall is expected to remain scattered and moderate over the next two days, weather officials anticipate a gradual intensification of monsoon currents in the coming week.
The eastern and central parts of the state may experience more widespread rainfall activity, particularly as the monsoon progresses further inland.
