N V Srinivasan appointed Paytm Money’s non-executive independent director

New Delhi, August 27: One97 Communications, the fintech firm that owns the Paytm brand, announced on Tuesday the appointment of Narasinganallore Venkatesh Srinivasan as a non-executive independent director of its wholly-owned subsidiary, Paytm Money.

Rakesh Singh, CEO and Whole Time Director of Paytm Money, remarked that the company has developed a robust, consumer-focused platform in recent years with a strong emphasis on governance. He added that with Srinivasan’s deep regulatory knowledge and broad experience in financial markets, Paytm Money is dedicated to further improving these elements.

Srinivasan possesses extensive expertise in finance, risk management, capital markets, and banking strategy accumulated over several years.

Srinivasan previously chaired the Reserve Bank of India’s Technical Advisory Committee for the Fixed Income, Money Markets, and Derivatives Association (FIMMDA). He also served as a management committee member of the Foreign Exchange Dealers’ Association of India (FEDAI).

He was formerly the Chief Executive Officer of the Association of Mutual Funds in India (AMFI). Before that, he served as the Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director on the Board of Lakshmi Vilas Bank. He also spent 19 years at IDBI Bank, where he held senior positions, including Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director.

Srinivasan expressed his enthusiasm about joining Paytm Money’s board, stating that he looks forward to contributing to the company’s mission of transforming India’s investment landscape. He mentioned that, with his extensive experience in finance and banking, he is eager to collaborate with a dynamic team focused on innovation and growth.
