Nayi Disha holds week-long ‘Inclusion Manch’ to empower families

Nayi Disha is organizing Inclusion Manch 2023, a week-long event comprising five live sessions with over 20 expert panellists.

Nayi Disha is a Hyderabad-based non-profit organization that provides information, peer support and hope to families affected by intellectual and developmental disabilities.

It is working in collaboration with Deepshika Institute Ranchi, CRC Ranchi and Sabal centre Jamshedpur in Jharkhand.

The sessions have been designed to shed light on critical topics, ranging from early intervention and inclusive education to child safety, vocational and employment preparation, and disability advocacy.

The sessions will have distinguished panellists, including celebrated figures in the field such as Mugdha Kalra and Gopika Kapoor, both renowned disability advocates; Aalaap Deboor from Much Much Spectrum; Sangeeta Saxena from Enfold; Medha Dey from India Autism Centre; Shweta Upadhyay from Ummeed CDC; and Sushant Shinde from Arpan.

The live sessions, scheduled from December 3rd to December 7th, will be streamed on Nayi Disha’s Facebook channel daily from 4 PM to 5 PM. These sessions offer participants a unique opportunity to gain practical knowledge and guidance from experts who have dedicated years to their respective domains. Nayi Disha’s commitment to accessibility is evident in its multifaceted approach.

The organization actively addresses digital access and literacy barriers by providing medically verified information through phone, printed materials, workshops, and support groups.

Nayi Disha’s helpline caters to families in smaller cities and towns, ensuring that no one is left behind. Moreover, the organization has taken steps to bridge linguistic gaps by translating its content into Hindi, Telugu, Bengali, and other languages, with plans for more languages in the future. The helpline can respond to queries in eight different languages, and support groups are tailored to assist caregivers in local languages.
