New Delhi, Oct 8: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has secured 40 assembly seats in Haryana and is on track to hold the state for a record third consecutive term.
According to the latest update on the Election Commission of India (ECI) website, in Haryana, the BJP has won 48 seats whereas Congress has won 36 seats and was leading on one seat.

Meanwhile, the National Conference (NC) and Congress alliance has emerged victorious in the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections. NC has won 42 seats in J&K, Congress emerged victorious on six seats while the BJP managed to secure 29 seats.
Omar Abdullah is set to become the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir.
