Jamshedpur, Jan 1: Two young men were killed and another critically injured when the car they were traveling in crashed into a tree in the Telco thana area during the early hours of Wednesday.
The victims, aged between 25 and 28, were celebrating the New Year with a joyride, but their car was reportedly being driven at a dangerously high speed.
The accident occurred around 2:00 am near Little Flower School, along one of the main roads in scenic Telco.

The deceased have been identified as Roshan Kumar and Ayush Chowhan, both residents of Ghorabandha in Govindpur. The critically injured individual, Ayush Mishra, also hails from Ghorabandha.

Ayush Mishra was initially rushed to Tata Motors Hospital in Telco but was later transferred to Tata Main Hospital due to the severity of his condition.
Telco thana Officer-in-Charge (OC), Mohammed S. Ali, stated that the car was speeding recklessly and hit a speed bump near Little Flower School, causing the driver to lose control.
“The car, moving at a dangerous speed, swerved out of control and crashed into a roadside tree. Two of the victims, including the driver, died on the spot,” OC Ali said while speaking to The Jharkhand Story.
When asked, the OC mentioned that authorities are investigating whether the victims were under the influence of alcohol at the time of the accident.
The tragic incident has cast a shadow of grief over Ghorabandha, dampening the New Year celebrations in the community.
