New Delhi, Nov 8: In connection with human trafficking cases, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) executed searches across 10 different states on Wednesday.
The states that the NIA is searching in these cases include Tripura, Assam, West Bengal, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Haryana, Puducherry, Rajasthan and Jammu & Kashmir.
In close cooperation and coordination with state police forces, raids are currently taking place at the residences and other places of suspects connected to these cases.
NIA’s several teams launched raids in the 10 states on Tuesday morning, following detailed information regarding individuals suspected of being involved in the crime.
According to NIA sources, NIA investigators are scouring more than four dozen locations throughout these 10 states to uncover the network of human traffickers with connections abroad.
Last month an evading suspect from Tamil Nadu in a Sri Lankan human trafficking case was apprehended by a Bengaluru-based NIA squad. Along with another co-accused, the accused Imran Khan trafficked citizens of Sri Lanka to different areas of Bengaluru and Mangaluru.
