Odisha CM announces 3% DA and DR hike for employees and pensioners

Bhubaneswar, Oct 16: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Thursday announced a festive bonanza for state employees and pensioners with a 3% increase in both dearness allowance (DA) and dearness relief (DR).

The revision raises the DA for government employees from 55% to 58% and will be implemented retrospectively from July 1, 2025. The revised amount will be disbursed in cash along with the October 2025 salary.

Pensioners will also receive a corresponding 3% hike in DR, which will reflect in their October pension.

According to the Chief Minister’s Office, the decision is expected to benefit around 8.5 lakh government employees and pensioners across the state.

The announcement comes just ahead of Diwali and mirrors a similar relief package rolled out during the festive season last year.
