“I want it to be a model for schools across the state. It is a remedy to a long-standing problem that children face due to the imposition of adult burdens on children: heavy school bags, a product of an education system that is often inconsiderate of their needs,” Seth, who has got implemented a large number of development projects in Ranchi.

Book bank for underprivileged students

Notably, Sanjay Seth opened a book bank for underprivileged students at his office in Argora in the Jharkhand capital in 2020.

The book bank, which began with around 400 books of various subjects, mostly school and intermediate level, donated from various areas in and around Ranchi, now boasts three lakh books on its shelves.

“During my visit to rural areas, I found talented students from underprivileged backgrounds who, despite having the potential, cannot study due to lack of resources to purchase books. Some cannot attend online classes and, in the process, miss out on notes due to the lack of smartphones,” he pointed out.

“Our book bank caters to the needs of students drawn from remote corners of Ranchi district. We have reached out to some 60,000 students so far,” he added.
