Jamshedpur, Dec 17:  Over 100 fitness freaks including men, women and children participated in the Jamshedpur Walkathon organised by FABNFITR, a health and fitness Club, here today

Dhalbhum SDO Piyush Sinha flagged off the Jamshedpur Walkathon event from the Contractor’s Area in Bistupur at 7 am.

The Walkathon was organised as a part of a nationwide campaign – Obesity Free Nation, run by the health club.

Fitness enthusiasts of steel city took part in the 5 Km Walkathon which after its flag-off from the Contractor’s Area in Bistupur went through various thoroughfares before touching the Jubilee Park.

The Walkathon culminated at the point of origin near the Jain Bhawan at Road No.2 in Contractor’s Area, Bistupur.

Anuj Singh, a senior official of the fitness club said, ” The Walkathon event organised by the fitness club for the first time in Jamshedpur was a grand success. The participation was overwhelming. We look forward to organising such fitness events in regular intervals.”

Dhalbhum SDO Sinha appreciated the efforts of the club in organising the event.

He said the club is doing a good job in bringing about awareness on health and fitness among Jamshedpur residents.

One of the woman participants Anita Bajpayee said, ” We thoroughly enjoyed the event. The idea of organising the event was to create awareness about Obesity Free Nation, the campaign run by the club. The club also organises several other health-related activities.”

Notably, for the last two years, FABNFITR club has conducted daily fitness sessions and people join the session online every day in the morning from 7 am to 8.30 am.

The fitness club has over 600 members across the country.

Apart from exercise, necessary tips on nutrition and health are also provided during the daily online session by experts.

The event also saw the participation of several senior officials of Amway India, a leading direct-selling company with a wide range of high-quality consumer products on nutrition, beauty and other health care.
