Over 30 food processing companies ready to invest in Jharkhand

New Delhi, Sept 22: The representatives of the companies visiting the Jharkhand Pavilion in World Food India 2024 have shown great interest in investing in Jharkhand.

Sushant Gaurav, Director, Industries Department, said that more than 30 companies have expressed their desire to invest in Jharkhand in World Food India 2024.

He said there is a possibility of investment of about Rs 1000 crore in the field of food processing in Jharkhand and it will also increase technical exchange and participation.

“Apart from this, it will help more than 5000 people in earning a livelihood. With its help, self-help groups and FPOs will be strengthened and the income of FPOs will also increase,” he added.

Companies that have expressed interest

Among the companies that have expressed their interest are Amul, FSPO Bagina, Savishnu Hari Hari Bol, Vista Food, Food Chain ID Sanjh, Aysto Energy, Badgo, Horica Expo, Kanji Manjari Pure Organic Food, Bajaj Foods Hindustan Unilever Limited Ramanjali Organic, Legal Kitchen Foods Limited, Kalama Technology Private Limited, Tangent Overseas, Innovative Foods, Pro Agro, Prime Foods, JM Gourmet etc.

Governor visits Jharkhand pavilion

Meanwhile, Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar today visited the Jharkhand Pavilion at the ‘World Food India Festival-2024’ organized at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi.

He said that World Food India is a remarkable initiative of the Government of India to bring people associated with the food processing sector on one platform. The governor visited the stalls set up there and obtained detailed information about the products from the stall holders.

He appreciated the traditional cuisine of Jharkhand displayed here and expressed happiness on seeing the attraction of people towards the products made from traditional food items. He said that apart from Shri Anna Madua (Ragi) of Jharkhand, the popularity of products made from other traditional food items has increased immensely and there is a demand for it not only in the country but also abroad.
