Illicit Trade Operating Under Cover Jobs

According to the SDPO, Bablu Gupta claimed to run a fabric shop, but it was allegedly a cover for his involvement in the illegal cannabis trade. His wife Anita Devi was also actively involved.

Police said Durga Devi, a widow, and Savita Devi, who claimed to sell groundnuts, were also engaged in the illicit trade.

Yakub said police had been receiving inputs about Bablu Gupta’s involvement for some time and conducted the raid after confirming the presence of cannabis.
