Ranchi, June 17: Dewesh Tiwary, a native of Palamu, Jharkhand, has been appointed as a member of the State-Level DISHA Committee for the state of Jharkhand under the “Eminent Person” category. The appointment, formally communicated by the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, holds the status equivalent to that of a Class-1 officer.

At just 26, Tiwary stands among the youngest individuals ever appointed to any commission, board, or committee under the Government of India—marking a significant milestone in his public career.

Driving Rural Development Across Ministries

The DISHA (District Development Coordination and Monitoring Committee) platform is responsible for ensuring effective coordination and monitoring of 97 flagship schemes across 34 ministries. The Chief Minister chairs the state-level committee and includes the Chief Secretary as Member Secretary, along with Members of Parliament, MLAs, senior bureaucrats, and select citizens.

Speaking on his appointment, Tiwary described the role as both a personal honour and a national responsibility. “This is an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047, ensuring active youth involvement in shaping inclusive development,” he said.

Acknowledging Leadership Support

Tiwary expressed gratitude to key national leaders for their support, including the Prime Minister, Home Minister, BJP National President, Rural Development Minister, Member of Parliament Manoj Tiwari—whom he regards as a mentor—and Rajya Sabha MP Deepak Prakash.

“This appointment reflects the principle of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas,” he said, committing to approach his duties with full dedication and integrity.

A Proud Moment for Palamu

In Palamu, Tiwary’s appointment has been received with widespread pride. His rise from a small town to a national committee spotlights the potential of youth from India’s heartland to contribute meaningfully to policymaking and governance.
