New Delhi, Dec 20: Parliament remains tense today, similar to yesterday, as clashes between the ruling party and the opposition intensify over the Ambedkar remarks and the scuffle incident.
On one side, NDA MPs protested near Mahatma Gandhi’s statue against Rahul Gandhi and the Congress. On the other, INDIA alliance MPs staged a march from Vijay Chowk to Parliament in protest of Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement regarding Dr. B.R. Ambedkar.
Meanwhile, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey has demanded the suspension of Congress MP and Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, from the House.
Dubey has submitted a notice to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, alleging breach of privilege and disrespect to the House by Rahul Gandhi. He urged the Speaker to refer the matter to the Privileges Committee and called for Rahul Gandhi’s suspension until the committee delivers its verdict.
In the notice submitted to the Speaker, Dubey accused Rahul Gandhi of misrepresenting Home Minister Amit Shah’s statement and circulating it on the social media platform X.
Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi stated that the entire country is watching. She remarked that multiple cases have been filed against Rahul Gandhi, new FIRs are being registered, and lies are being propagated. This, she said, reflects ruling party’s level of desperation.
