Low-pressure over Bay of Bengal impacts Jharkhand’s weather

Jamshedpur, Dec 20: A well-marked low-pressure area over the Bay of Bengal today impacted Jharkhand’s weather.

Cloud formation took place at several places in southern and central Jharkhand.

Dense fog was witnessed at isolated places over north-western and adjoining central parts of the state this morning.

A forecast of dense fog was also issued for tomorrow, December 21 at isolated places over north-eastern, central and southern parts of the state early in the morning.

The minimum temperature witnessed a rising trend in most parts of the state today.

Ranchi, Jamshedpur, Daltonganj, Bokaro and several other places recorded minimum temperature of around 10 degrees Celsius today.

The well-marked low-pressure area over the southwest Bay of Bengal lay over the southwest adjoining west-central Bay of Bengal.

An associated upper cyclonic circulation was extending upto 5.8 Km above the mean sea level.

The system is likely to move nearly northwestwards towards north Tamil Nadu and south Andhra Pradesh coast during next 24 hours.

Thereafter, it is likely to move nearly northwards along the Andhra Pradesh coast in the subsequent 24 hours.

Another induced cyclonic circulation was hovering over southwest Rajasthan and its neighbourhood at 1.5 Km above the mean sea level.
