New Delhi, June 10: Prime Minister Narendra Modi started his new term in office on Monday by authorising the release of the 17th instalment of the PM Kisan Nidhi, after taking the oath for a third consecutive term. 9.3 crore farmers will benefit from the scheme which will allocate approximately Rs 20,000 crore.
“Ours is a Government fully committed to Kisan Kalyan. It is therefore fitting that the first file signed on taking charge is related to farmer welfare. We want to keep working even more for the farmers and the agriculture sector in the times to come,” said PM Modi after signing the file at his South Bloc office.
During his previous two terms as Prime Minister, he has introduced several significant initiatives, such as Ayushman Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojana, Housing for All, Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Man Dhan Yojana, Ujjwala Yojana, PM Kisan Samman Nidhi, UDAN, and Make in India.

A Union Cabinet meeting is expected to be held at 5 pm today.
In an elegant ceremony held on Sunday at Rashtrapati Bhavan, Narendra Modi was sworn in as India’s Prime Minister for a third term in a row. President Droupadi Murmu administered the oath of office to Narendra Modi, followed by the swearing-in of other members of his ministerial team.
In addition to the Prime Minister, 30 cabinet ministers, 36 Ministers of State, and 5 Ministers of State (independent charge) from the BJP and its allies also took their oaths at the event.
