New Delhi, June 5: Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off 200 electric buses in Delhi on World Environment Day, marking a major step toward cleaner public transport under the Delhi Government’s sustainable mobility initiative.

The launch event was attended by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Union Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, and Delhi’s Environment Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa.

During the event, the Prime Minister also planted a sapling as part of the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’ campaign, a nationwide effort to encourage individual responsibility toward environmental conservation.
Earlier in the day, PM Modi had shared a video message on his official X account, urging people to strengthen their commitment to safeguarding nature and confronting global environmental challenges.
