PM Modi launches Rs 6640 crore worth projects from Bihar

Jamui, Nov 15: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday launched development projects valued at Rs 6,640 crore from the Jamui district of Bihar.

PM Modi visited the district to attend an event marking the 150th birth anniversary of Lord Birsa Munda, celebrated as ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas’, where he paid tribute to the tribal legend.

He launched a commemorative coin and postal stamp in honour of Birsa Munda and virtually took part in the ‘Grih Pravesh’ ceremony for 11,000 homes built for tribal families under the PM Janjati Adivasi Nyaya Maha Abhiyan (PM-JANMAN).

Key initiatives to boost healthcare, education, infrastructure, livelihoods in tribal areas

The PM launched 23 mobile medical units (MMUs) under PM-JANMAN and 30 more under the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Gram Utkarsh Abhiyan (DAJGUA) to improve healthcare access in remote tribal regions.

He inaugurated 10 Eklavya Model Residential Schools and 300 Van Dhan Vikas Kendras to foster entrepreneurship and enhance livelihoods.

He also unveiled two Tribal Freedom Fighters’ Museums in Chhindwara and Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, along with two Tribal Research Institutes in Srinagar and Gangtok to preserve and document tribal history.

The Prime Minister laid the foundation stones for 500 km of new roads, 100 multi-purpose centres in tribal areas, 25,000 houses under PM-JANMAN, 1.16 lakh houses under DAJGUA, and 370 hostels for tribal students.
