New Delhi, Sept 9: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday became the first to cast his vote in the 15th Vice Presidential election before leaving for Himachal Pradesh and Punjab to review the flood and landslide situation.

Sharing a post on X, he said the Centre stands “shoulder to shoulder with those affected in this tragic hour.”

Voting for the election began at 10 am in Parliament, where MPs and ministers queued up to exercise their franchise. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, BJP leaders Nitin Gadkari, JP Nadda, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Prahlad Joshi were among the early voters.
