Modi questions Katchatheevu issue, slams Congress and DMK’s response to fishermen’s plight
Again aiming his remarks at the Congress and DMK, both of whom held power at the central and state levels respectively in 1974 when the Katchatheevu islet was ceded to Sri Lanka, Prime Minister Modi raised questions about the decision-making process. He demanded to know which cabinet meeting approved the decision and who stood to gain from it, highlighting the lack of response from Congress on these matters.
Prime Minister Modi accused the Congress and the DMK of displaying insincere empathy towards Indian fishermen from Tamil Nadu who were arrested and had their boats confiscated after the ceding of the Katchatheevu islet.

INDI Alliance insults ‘Shakti’, women
Modi condemned the Congress, specifically targeting Rahul Gandhi over Shakti remarks, for purportedly talking to undermine the strength of Hinduism.
He additionally pointed out that this mindset is mirrored in the DMK as well. They criticize Sanatana Dharma, refuse to participate in events like the inauguration of the Ram temple in Ayodhya, and oppose the installation of the sacred Sengol in the new Parliament building.
He also said that members of the INDI Alliance mistreat women, and it is widely known how the DMK treated the late ‘Amma Jayalalithaa’ during her lifetime.
“Your blessings for the BJP and the NDA will protect Sanatan Shakti and ensure women’s honour,” PM Modi stated.
