Vadodara, Oct 28: Spain’s Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez with Prime Minister Narendra Modi jointly inaugurated the Tata Aircraft Complex on Monday. He also praised PM Modi, stating that this is another victory for Modi’s vision.
Sanchez said that Modi’s vision is to make India an industrial powerhouse and a hub for investment and trade. He remarked that today, they are officially inaugurating a state-of-the-art industrial facility and witnessing how an exceptional project between two prestigious companies has become a reality.
Airbus-Tata partnership to contribute to growth of Indian aerospace industry
The partnership between Airbus and Tata is set to contribute to the advancement of the Indian aerospace industry. It will also pave the way for the entry of other European companies.
Prime Minister Modi said that this factory will strengthen India-Spain relations and empower the ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ mission. Modi stated that from today, the partnership between India and Spain is taking a new direction as they inaugurate the production facility for C-295 aircraft.
According to reports, both leaders held a bilateral meeting at the historic Laxmi Vilas Palace before jointly inaugurating the Tata Advanced Systems Center. They also participated in a roadshow in Vadodara.

Tata Advanced Systems assigned to build 40 aircrafts in India
This complex has been established by Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TSAL) for the production of C-295 aircraft. This facility will be responsible for manufacturing 40 aircrafts. TSAL has been entrusted with the task of building these 40 aircraft in India. This complex represents the first private sector final assembly line for military aircraft in India. It will include the construction, assembly of parts, and testing of the aircraft. Additionally, it will provide maintenance facilities for the aircraft.
According to sources, apart from Tata, major public sector defence units such as Bharat Electronics and Bharat Dynamics, along with private micro, small, and medium enterprises, will contribute to this program. Notably, Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation for the Vadodara final assembly line in October 2022.
India being made an aviation hub: PM Modi
PM Modi stated that they are already working towards making India an aviation hub. He said that this ecosystem will pave the way for Made-in-India civil aircraft in the future. He mentioned that various Indian airlines have placed orders for 1,200 new aircraft and the C-295 aircraft factory reflects the new work culture of a new India.
“All of you have witnessed unprecedented growth and transformation in India’s aviation sector in the last decade. We are already working to make India an aviation hub. This ecosystem will pave the way for Made in India civil aircraft in the future. Various Indian airlines have placed orders for 1200 new aircraft… this factory is going to play a major role in the design and manufacturing of civil aircraft to meet the future needs of India and the world,” PM Modi stated.
