New Delhi, June 5: In preparation for the formation of the next Bharatiya Janata Party-led NDA government, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with his council of ministers, has submitted his resignation to President Droupadi Murmu.

This will clear the way for the dissolution of the 17th Lok Sabha, which served from 2019 to 2024.

Accepting the resignation, the President urged PM Modi and the Council of Ministers to continue on until the next government took office.

This followed the Cabinet meeting that took place on Wednesday in this nation’s capital. The dissolution of the cabinet, whose tenure expires on June 16, was recommended during the meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

At the NDA meeting, which is set for today at 3:30 pm, both parties are anticipated to provide formal letters of support to the BJP.

Meanwhile, senior NDA leaders began arriving in Delhi for an alliance meeting scheduled for 3:30 pm. During this meeting, NDA leaders are expected to discuss the specifics of forming the government.
