Sendai, August 30: Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a rousing welcome in Sendai on Saturday morning, as locals and members of the Indian community enthusiastically greeted him with chants of “Welcome to Japan, Modi San!”

Later in the day, Modi, accompanied by his Japanese counterpart Shigeru Ishiba, toured the Tokyo Electron Factory.

The two leaders visited the Training Room and the Production Innovation Lab, where they engaged with senior company officials.

Reflecting on the visit, PM Modi underlined that semiconductors have become a vital pillar of India–Japan collaboration.
He noted that India has made significant progress in this field in recent years, with a growing number of young people entering the sector. He added that both nations aim to build further momentum in the future.
