Special Cover Celebrates the Spirit of Coal Warriors

In a highlight of the valedictory session, the Department of Posts, Jharkhand, in collaboration with CCL, released a Special Cover (customised stamp ticket) and a souvenir titled Navchetna. The commemorative release pays tribute to the “Coal Warriors” of Coal India Limited and CCL, recognising their tireless contribution to ensuring the nation’s energy security.

Speaking on the occasion, CCL CMD Nilendu Kumar Singh said the Special Cover symbolises the “commitment, perseverance, and contribution” of every individual in the coal sector. He added, “A postage stamp is not just a piece of paper — it carries emotions and connects hearts. Even in the digital age, letters and posts remain a sincere and timeless medium of communication.”

Dr. Sameer Kapoor, Director, Ad Factors Delhi, in his address on “New Age of PR in the Changing Digital World,” spoke about the evolution of PR 2.0, where digital platforms, influencers, and content creators are shaping organisational reputation through authentic engagement.

Strengthening Organisational Communication

Highlighting the “Relevance of a Customised Stamp for the Coal Industry in its Golden Jubilee Year,” Alok Kumar Gupta, Head of Department, CC & PR, CCL, underscored how symbolic communication initiatives like the Special Cover foster institutional pride and preserve corporate heritage.

Harsh Nath Mishra, Director (HR), CCL, remarked that public relations remains the “backbone” of organisational trust, bridging the company with its stakeholders through transparent and participatory communication.

Empowering the Next Generation of Communicators

The conclave also focused on nurturing future talent through sessions such as “Career in PR & Communication: Challenges & Opportunities in the Era of Digitalisation” by Dr Vikas Pathe of IIM Ranchi, who encouraged students to embrace adaptability and audience insight in a rapidly changing landscape.

In the session “Positive Media Mastery: Craft Your Brand Story,” Sanjeev Shekhar of Adani Power emphasised that brand reputation is built on what people say “in your absence,” stressing the power of consistent, positive messaging.

The valedictory session concluded with an engaging interactive talk with advertising icon Prahlad Kakkar, who inspired budding PR professionals with his insights on creativity, storytelling, and the evolving future of media engagement.

A Confluence of Ideas for the Digital Age

Delivering the vote of thanks, Alok Kumar Gupta, HoD (CC & PR), expressed gratitude to all speakers, participants, and academic partners. He said, “The conclave has truly become a confluence of ideas and a platform for shaping the future of public relations in India.”

The National PR Conclave 2025 reaffirmed that modern public relations go far beyond information dissemination. Today, PR is about engagement, empathy, and trust-building — connecting organisations with society and inspiring meaningful communication in the digital era.
