New Delhi, Jan 31: President Droupadi Murmu started her speech in the budget session by mentioning the completion of 75 years of adoption of the Constitution. Addressing the joint meeting of both the houses, she paid homage to the architect of the Constitution, Baba Saheb Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar.
The President also expressed grief over the stampede incident that took place in Prayagraj Maha Kumbh on the day of Mauni Amavasya and wished for the speedy recovery of the injured. Earlier, President Draupadi Murmu was given a grand welcome on her arrival at the Parliament House.
Online transactions have boosted economic strength
The President, highlighting the achievements of the Modi government, stated that India is on track to become the world’s third-largest economy soon. She mentioned that the government has been working in mission mode, yielding visible benefits. Foreign investments are flowing in, creating employment opportunities for the country’s youth.
She noted that the tax system has been simplified, small industries are being promoted, and technologies like UPI are being utilized. The ease of online transactions has strengthened the economy, and street vendors have benefited from loan schemes.

Growth in education, technology, housing initiatives
The President mentioned that competitive exams are now being conducted in 13 Indian languages and highlighted the increase in the number of higher education institutions across the country. She emphasized the promotion of education in regional languages.
Speaking about technological advancements, she noted India’s success in the field of space docking.
President Droupadi Murmu stated that along with ensuring housing for all, the government is focusing on education and employment. She also mentioned that 2.25 crore ownership cards have been distributed so far.
Achievements in space, sports, research initiatives
The President mentioned the inauguration of the new campus of Nalanda University.
While discussing ISRO, she referred to the successful deployment of satellites and stated that the day is not far when Indian-made Gaganyaan will carry astronauts into space.
She highlighted India’s achievements in the Olympics, Paralympics, and the World Chess Championship.
The President emphasized the importance of farmers, soldiers, science, and research, stating that a research center has been established with an investment of ₹50,000 crore.
Bio-E policy, Make in India, support for small entrepreneurs
The President stated that her government has introduced the Bio-E Policy, which will form the foundation of the bio-economy.
She highlighted that her government has worked with strong determination to lift the economy from a policy paralysis situation. Several measures have been taken to promote the spirit of ease of doing business. Due to the Make in India initiative, “Made in India” labels are now visible on global products.
She also mentioned that her government considers small entrepreneurs the backbone of the economy and is providing self-employment opportunities.

India on path to become world’s third-largest economy
The President mentioned the establishment of Tribhuvan Sahkari University and the provision of free rations, stating that the poor have been given the opportunity to live with dignity.
She emphasized that the dreams of the middle class are also taking flight. India is on the path to becoming the world’s third-largest economy. The government’s mantra is “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” and the benefits of development are reaching the last person. The goal of the government is to create a developed India.
The President noted that 250 million people have been lifted above the poverty line, and senior citizens above the age of 75, who only receive pensions, have been given the right to make decisions regarding income tax filing.
The decision to form the Eighth Pay Commission has been made, and subsidies are being provided on home loans. Efforts to empower women continue.
