New Delhi, April 14: Today marks the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, the visionary architect of the Indian Constitution, esteemed thinker, and social reformer.
On this momentous occasion, several prominent leaders, including President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, have paid their heartfelt tributes to Babasaheb.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi today paid tribute to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar at the Prerna Sthal within the Parliament complex, marking his 135th birth anniversary.
Alongside him, Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and several Union Ministers—including JP Nadda, Kiren Rijiju, Arjun Ram Meghwal, and Piyush Goyal—gathered at the Prerna Sthal to honor Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy.
The occasion also saw the presence of key political figures such as Rahul Gandhi, Sonia Gandhi, Congress leaders Bhupinder Hooda, Mallikarjun Kharge, and Delhi CM Rekha Gupta, along with other notable leaders.

“I extend my heartfelt greetings and best wishes to all countrymen on the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution,” President Murmu wrote on X.

PM Modi has shared a post on X with a video. “On behalf of all the countrymen, I bow down to Bharat Ratna Pujya Babasaheb on his birth anniversary. It is due to his inspiration that the country is dedicatedly engaged in realizing the dream of social justice today. His principles and ideals will give strength and momentum to the creation of a self-reliant and developed India,” PM Modi posted on X.

The Union Home Minister also paid his respects to Dr. Ambedkar, sharing his tribute on X saying, “Babasaheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, who laid the foundation of social revolution on the basis of education, equality and justice, remained committed to the rights of the deprived throughout his life. By drafting the Constitution based on equality, freedom and fraternity, he provided a strong foundation to India’s great democratic heritage. Babasaheb’s thoughts towards building a just and egalitarian society inspire all of us even today. I pay my heartfelt tributes to Baba Saheb Bhimrao Ambedkar, the great architect of the Constitution and a symbol of self-respect for millions of countrymen, on his birth anniversary.”

Rahul Gandhi while paying his tributes wrote on X, “Respectful tributes to the architect of the Indian Constitution, Babasaheb Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar on his birth anniversary. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge paid his respects, expressing his tribute on X saying, “Babasaheb Dr. Ambedkar gave us the countrymen the Constitution of India – based on the democratic values of justice, liberty, equality and fraternity – which is the most powerful tool for social justice and inclusive development. He described inclusiveness as his ultimate duty for the progress and unity of the country and strongly stressed on protecting the rights of all. On his 135th birth anniversary, we reiterate our unwavering commitment to his ideas of social change and social justice. The Congress Party takes this oath that we will always remain committed to the protection of constitutional values and the protection of democracy.”
