Raebareli, May 3: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi officially entered the electoral race for the Raebareli Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh by filing his nomination on Friday.
During his nomination filing, Rahul Gandhi was accompanied by several prominent figures from the Congress party, including Mallikarjun Kharge, the national president, Sonia Gandhi, the Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party, Priyanka Gandhi, a party general secretary, and her husband Robert Vadra.

The Congress had declared earlier in the day that Rahul Gandhi will represent the party in Raebareli, the seat that his mother Sonia Gandhi had just left empty when she was elected to the Rajya Sabha.
In the Raebareli constituency, Rahul is up against BJP candidate Dinesh Pratap Singh, a three-time MLC who has switched allegiance from the Congress party.
Raebareli is scheduled for voting in the fifth phase on May 20th.
