Rahul Gandhi’s Yatra to enter Jharkhand on February 2, route yet to be decided

Deoghar, January 27: Bharat Jodo Yatra, led by Rahul Gandhi, will enter Jharkhand on February 2 via Pakur district.

A high-level meeting of Congress leaders was held in Deoghar on Saturday under the presidency of the newly elected in charge of the Jharkhand Congress, Ghulam Ahmad Mir.

Congress party officials and workers attended the meeting. The state president of Congress, Rajesh Thakur, and ministers in state government and many MLAs participated in the meeting.

After the meeting, the in-charge of Jharkhand, Ghulam Mohmad Mir, talking to the media, said that Rahul Gandhi and Bharat Jodo Yatra would arrive on February 2 via Pakur district in Jharkhand. Still, he added that our team has yet to decide on the route.

Injustice across country: Mir

“The team is doing its job. There has been an atmosphere of injustice across the country for the last ten years, so Rahul Gandhi has started the movement to change the scenario in the country. Yatra will continue unless the purpose of Yatra is not achieved,” he said.

Mir ducks query on Mamata

He further said the result of the upcoming parliamentary election will differ due to Bharat Jodo Yatra. On the stand taken by Mamata Banerjee regarding the Yatra in West Bengal, he clarified that he is not entitled to comment on such an issue, but he claimed that the senior leaders would soon resolve it.

Not sure on Rahul’s visit to Deoghar: Thakur  

On the other hand, the state president of Congress, Rajesh Thakur, has clarified that Rahul Gandhi is going to arrive in Jharkhand on February 2, but whether he is coming to Deoghar or elsewhere will be decided by the grace of Baba Baidyanath.

After this meeting, Thakur claimed there would be enthusiasm in the state for Bharat Jodo Yatra.

Agriculture Minister Badal Patralekh said there are many factors to be counted while deciding the route of a leader like Rahul Gandhi. “Still, through the meeting, we have apprised the in charge of the sentiment of party workers regarding the Yatra,” he said.

Apart from state President and Ministers Alamgir Alam, MLAs Irfan Ansari, Pradeep Yadav, Amba Prasad, Uma Shankar Akela, ex-MLA Bandhu Tirkey, senior leaders like Subodh Kant Sahai, Furkan Ansari, K.N Jha and a large number of party workers were present in the meeting.
