Lucknow, April 29: For the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Defence Minister and BJP contender for the Lucknow seat, Rajnath Singh, filed his nomination papers on Monday.
The event also saw the presence of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami.
Prior to submitting his nomination, Rajnath Singh held a roadshow in Lucknow, with the company of Uttar Pradesh CM Yogi Adityanath and Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami.
In the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Lucknow is scheduled to vote in the fifth phase on May 20. Rajnath Singh will be contesting against Samajwadi Party candidate Ravidas Mehrotra for this seat.

Smriti Irani files nomination from Amethi
Smriti Irani, the Union Minister for Women and Child Development, also submitted her nomination papers for the Amethi Lok Sabha constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
Accompanied by Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav, Smriti Irani, seeking re-election from Amethi, submitted her nomination papers.
“For the service of Amethi, I have filed my nomination today. In the last 5 years in Amethi, 1,14,000 houses have been built under PM Awas Yojana, 1.5 lakh families received electricity connections and over 4 lakh farmers received PM-Kisan Samman Nidhi…I am hopeful that people will bless PM Modi, BJP,” she stated after filing her nomination.
Prior to submitting her candidacy papers, Smriti Irani held a roadshow in which the chief minister of Madhya Pradesh was also present.
The constituency of Amethi is set to cast its votes in the fifth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on May 20th.
