Ayodhya, June 5: The consecration (Pran Pratishtha) of the Ram Darbar on the first floor of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya was performed with full Vedic rituals on Thursday.

The idol of Lord Ram seated on the throne with Maa Janaki, flanked by Bharat, Lakshman, and Shatrughan, along with Lord Hanuman (Bajrangbali), was ceremonially installed.

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, along with various saints, conducted the Netronmilana (ceremonial eye-opening) and performed the first aarti, marking the culmination of the three-day religious rituals.

The event also included the consecration of idols in seven other temples within the complex. On the auspicious occasion of Ganga Dussehra, during the Abhijit Muhurat between 11:30 AM and 12 PM, the life force was ritually infused into the idols, including that of Lord Rameshwaram.

The ceremony witnessed the presence of key dignitaries including the President of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra Trust, Mahant Nritya Gopal Das, General Secretary Champat Rai, Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj, and several others.

Around a thousand special invitees, including religious leaders and officials, participated in the event, while thousands of devotees from India and abroad gathered to witness the grand occasion.

In view of the crowd, Ayodhya was put under tight security with ATS, CRPF, PAC, and civil police personnel deployed across the city.
