Ranchi, June 26: The Ranchi district administration and traffic police have issued a traffic advisory ahead of the Muharram procession on June 27, announcing restrictions on vehicular movement along the procession route and adjoining roads.
According to the traffic police, normal vehicular movement will remain suspended from 1 pm to 7 pm on the designated procession route and connected roads. Traffic will be diverted through alternative routes during this period.
Procession Route
The Muharram procession will follow this route:
Vishwanath Chowk → Kali Mandir → Wool House → Fatehullah Road → Karbala Chowk
Police said vehicular movement will remain prohibited on these roads while the procession passes through them.
Traffic Diversions to Be Enforced
Apart from the main procession route, traffic may also be diverted in other parts of the city depending on crowd movement and congestion.
Traffic personnel will regulate vehicles on the ground and implement additional diversions if required.

Public Advisory
The administration has appealed to commuters to:
- Check traffic updates before starting their journey.
- Use only the alternative routes suggested by the traffic police.
- Avoid travelling through restricted roads during the procession.
- Cooperate with police personnel deployed for traffic management.
Security Tightened Ahead of Muharram
Police and district officials have conducted flag marches in sensitive areas of Ranchi ahead of Muharram to review security arrangements.
The administration has urged citizens to maintain peace and communal harmony, refrain from spreading rumours or sharing misleading messages on social media, and immediately report any suspicious activity to the police.
Officials said adequate police personnel have been deployed across the city to ensure the peaceful conduct of the Muharram procession.
