Ranchi, Nov. 27: BJP state president Babulal Marandi today took stock of the situation by meeting the relatives of those who died of brain malaria and the families suffering from the disease in Kutlo village of Littipara and Jolo Barago village of Sundarpahari.
CM not worried about suffering of tribals
He termed as sad that despite Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s two-day visit to the area, he did not visit the affected villages to inquire about the well-being of the victims.
The BJP president reached Bada Kutlo village and met the families of those who died due to malaria and the families suffering from the disease and learned about the situation there from the villagers. After visiting Bada Kutlo village of Littipara block, Marandi reached Jolo Barago village of Sundarpahari block of Godda district.
This village is situated at an altitude of about 8 kilometres in Sundarpahari.
Malaria scared CM, says ex-CM
Marandi said that it seems surprising that the CM came to Pakur and Barhet, and stayed for two days but did not even go to the malaria-affected villages and meet the victims and affected people, this is sad.
“Perhaps the chief minister did not come to the affected villages because if he went to the villages, he would also get malaria. Either they got scared or the officers threatened them that if they went to the village they would fall ill.
“The chief minister had a helicopter, if he wanted, he could have easily visited one or two villages and inquired about the well-being of the victims. Only if we understand the problems of the people, the right solution will be found,” he pointed out.
Marandi said that the Government of India’s tap water scheme should be implemented here and the chief minister should direct the state officers in this regard.
“There is no need for a week or a month for this. If the work is done on a war footing, it will take only two days,” he added.

“There is no proper transportation system. There is complete mud in Nawadih. It is natural that if there is this kind of filth, mosquitoes will breed and people will fall ill. The road needs to be repaired immediately,” he added.
“Littipada, Sunderpahari is a malaria zone. The government should run a special drive here, so that there is not only prevention but also a permanent solution. There is also a need to pay attention to village facilities. If the road is good then there will be no water logging and hence mosquitoes will also not breed. The government should work in this direction immediately,” Marandi pointed out.
Littipara Hospital
Marandi said there is no good arrangement of beds in Littipara Hospital. “Nowadays everything is portable. There is no problem anywhere. It is winter season, blankets should also be provided to the poor,” he added.
Brain malaria
Notably, recently five children had died of brain malaria in Bada Kutlo village of Littipara block.
