Ranchi, March 1: As part of the centenary celebrations of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), a grand Virat Hindu Sammelan was organized at the Shri Ram Temple premises in Shri Ram Nagar, Chutia. The event was held to commemorate 100 years of the organization’s journey and to reinforce its message of unity, social harmony, cultural awareness, and national commitment.

A large number of people from Ranchi city and nearby areas participated in the conference, representing different sections of society.

Kalash Yatra and Traditional Welcome

The programme began with a Kalash Yatra from the Ram Temple premises, with significant participation of women. The Mahant of Hanuman Garhi, Ayodhya, and the Mahant of the Ram Temple were seated on a decorated chariot and escorted to the venue with traditional music and celebration. The formal proceedings commenced with Vedic chanting and ceremonial lamp lighting.

Centenary Year and Organizational Journey

Addressing the gathering, Raju Das of Hanuman Garhi, Ayodhya, said the conference was being organized in the centenary year of the RSS, which has completed 100 years of its establishment. He stated that over the past century, the organization has worked toward strengthening society, nurturing patriotism, and preserving cultural values.

He added that during the centenary year, Hindu conferences are being organized in nearly one lakh villages across the country, with participation expected from millions of people. Referring to the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, he described it as a symbol of cultural self-respect shaped by long struggle and sacrifice.

Message of Unity and Social Harmony

The Mahant of Shri Ram Temple, Chutia, said the gathering symbolized an awakened and organized society. Referring to the Vedic mantra “Sangachhadhwam Samvadadhwam,” he emphasized that collective action and unity form the true strength of society.

Sah-Sarkaryavah Alok Kumar elaborated on the importance of unity, citing references from the Mahabharata. He stated that disunity leads to defeat, while unity ensures victory. Interpreting the mantra “Sangachhadhwam Samvadadhwam Samvo Manansi Janatam,” he said unity of thought and purpose helps overcome challenges.

He emphasized that Hindu society, though diverse and inclusive, must unite under a shared identity when needed. He also stressed social harmony and called for the eradication of untouchability, citing examples of Sant Ravidas, Mirabai, and Maharishi Valmiki.

Panch Parivartan and Social Responsibility

Highlighting the concept of “Panch Parivartan,” he spoke about the need for social harmony, family awareness, environmental protection, self-reliance, and responsible citizenship. He said families play a crucial role in preserving cultural values, enabling India to retain its identity despite historical challenges.

On environmental issues, he referred to changes in Ranchi’s climate and called for collective efforts to restore ecological balance. He also underlined adherence to constitutional duties and positive civic conduct as essential for national progress.

Cultural Presentations and Participation

Cultural performances by children, including a depiction of Rani Lakshmibai’s bravery and a short dramatic presentation on contemporary social issues, were major attractions.

Representatives from the saint community, women participants, Gayatri Parivar, Vishva Hindu Parishad, Hindu Jagran Manch, Manda Puja Samiti Chutia, and office-bearers of the RSS attended the event along with local dignitaries and community members.

The program concluded with the singing of the national song and a collective pledge to strengthen unity, social harmony, and patriotism, marking the RSS centenary celebrations with a message of organization and cultural commitment.
