Ranchi, April 14:| BJP State President and Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi has launched a scathing attack on State Minister Hafizul Hasan, demanding his immediate removal from the cabinet over controversial remarks allegedly prioritising Sharia law above the Indian Constitution.

Speaking at a press conference in Giridih, Marandi condemned Hasan’s statement, calling it a direct affront to the values of the Indian Republic.
“Insult to Ambedkar, Insult to Constitution”
Marandi expressed outrage that such a statement was made on the birth anniversary of Dr B.R. Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution.

“This is not just an anti-constitutional remark—it is an anti-national act,” he declared. “A state minister holding a constitutional post has insulted both the Constitution and Baba Saheb Ambedkar. This cannot be pardoned.”

INDI Alliance Accused of Hypocrisy
The BJP leader alleged that despite carrying the Constitution “in their pockets,” leaders of the Congress-JMM combine mock its spirit through their actions.
“This is the true face of the INDI alliance. What Hafizul Hasan has said is not an isolated statement—it’s a revelation of their mindset,” Marandi said.
He demanded that Chief Minister Hemant Soren immediately sack Hasan, warning that failure to do so would be seen as the ruling alliance’s endorsement of the minister’s remarks.

“Appeasement Over National Interest”
Marandi accused the INDI alliance of indulging in vote-bank politics at the cost of national values.
“They want to run this country not by the Constitution, but by Sharia law,” he alleged, adding that incidents of stone-pelting and communal tension during Hindu festivals are the result of the state’s “appeasement-driven governance.”
BJP to Take Battle to the People
The BJP, Marandi said, will take this issue to the people across Jharkhand, launching statewide protests and campaigns.
“The public must know the real agenda of Congress-JMM. They wear the garb of constitutionalism but harbour disdain for it,” he concluded.
